    NCP Postpones Presidential Primaries Indefinitely Due To Lack Of Funds

    The National Conscience Party (NCP) has announced indefinite postponement of its presidential primaries earlier scheduled for between September 28 and 30.

    The Publicity Secretary of NCP, Okereke Emmanuel, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday in Lagos that the primaries were postponed due to lack of funds to financed the meeting.

    INEC Declares APC’s Oyetola Winner Of Osun Governorship Election


    The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, the winner of the 2018 Osun governorship election.

    Mr Oyetola was returned as governor-elect on Thursday at the end of a supplementary election which held in seven polling units across four local governments.

    The APC candidate won six of the seven units amidst allegations of harassment and other forms malpractice.

    At the end of the tally of votes, the APC candidate scored a total of 255,505 votes while the PDP candidate scored a total of 255,023 votes.

    The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Osun governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, has denied reports that he was not open to discussions and alliance with the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Iyiola Omisore, ahead of the rerun election holding on Thursday.

    A statement by his director of media and publicity, Olawale Rasheed, noted that the allegation trending on social media that Mr Adeleke’s family had rejected any possibility of working with Mr Omisore was fake and a lie masterminded by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

    Lady & Man Held For Flying Drone Over Osoba’s Home....

    Former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba on Tuesday alleged breach of security over a drone allegedly flown over his Abeokuta home to monitor activities going on in the compound.

    Consequently, two persons, who operated the drone were held by the security operatives attached to the former governor’s residence.

    A statement signed by Osoba’s aide, Adekunle Adeyemi, said the suspects, a lady and young man, were caught late Tuesday afternoon, after the drone was shot down.

    Adeyemi said the suspects could not give coherent explanation for their action when apprehended.

    The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has refuted claims that the State Assembly is planning to impeach the State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, over his decision to seek re-election.
    In a chat with DailyTrust, the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Musibau Razak, said there is no iota of truth in the speculation trending on social media and some online news websites that the Speaker was acting on instructions to initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Ambode.
    Responding to an inquiry made by DailyTrust, Razak said the relationship between the Governor and Speaker is “smooth and solid”.
    “This is political. Lot of information are being circulated here and there but there is no iota of truth in the report. The relationship between the Governor and Speaker is smooth and solid,” Razak said.
    There are claims that Bola Tinubu is against Ambode's re-election bid and that there are plans to impeach Ambode for going against the former governor's will.

    A Minna Magistrates’ Court in Niger state has sentenced a security guard, Musa Isyaku, to three months imprisonment for removing APC bill boards in Minna.

    Isiyaku, 35, was docked on a charge of mischief, contrary to Section 327 of the Penal Code.

    The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ahmed Ali, told the court that Isyaku was arrested on September 8 by men of the Chanchaga Security Committee while removing the bill boards.

    2019: Ambode reportedly faces impeachment as Tinubu


    Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, is currently the number one trending topic on Nigerian twitter. This is because of the political developments in the state.
    Ambode who picked up his APC governorship nomination form yesterday Monday September 10th, is said to be on a collision course with the APC National leader and former godfather, Bola Tinubu.
    According to reports, the former Lagos state governor and national chairman of the ruling party, has reportedly asked the state governor to forget about his plans to seek re-election.


    The Cable reports that Ambode is being threatened with impeachment proceedings if he fails to back out from the governorship election. Tinubu has reportedly anointed a former Commissioner under Babatunde Fashola, Ambode’s predecessor, Jide Sanwonolu as the ''incoming governor of the state''. Sanwonolu is the current managing director of Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSPDC).

    Sanwonolu picked up his APC nomination form today September 11th. Sanwonolu was joined by members of the Mandate Movement, a group fiercely loyal to Tinubu

    The office of the Vice President of the Federal republic of Nigeria has officially  launched a website where consumers can directly lodge complaints.

    This was disclosed by the Director-General of the Standards Organisation of  Nigeria (SON) Chief Osita Aboloma at the occasion of the award of the  Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) or revalidation  certificate to Dangote Cement Gboko Plant.

    In the revalidation ceremony held today at the board room of the cement  plant, Chief Osita Aboloma noted that the Mandatory Conformity Assessment  Programme (MANCAP) or revalidation is to ensure that Manufactured products comply with Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS) before taking it to  the consumers.


    Chief Aboloma who was represented by the Benue State Coordinator of the  SON Mr. Samson Makolo explained that the Gboko plant of the Dangote  Cement has actually been certified by the Standard organization of Nigeria  and that the certificate was been revalidated as a vote of confidence in  conformity with the agency’s laid down procedures of continuous monitoring  to ensure sustenance of quality and standards.

    President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday arrived in People’s Republic of China to participate in the 7th Summit of the Forum on China — Africa Cooperation FOCAC2018.

    The President was accompanied to Beijing by his wife, Aisha, who is scheduled to participate in a spouses’ programme on China-Africa at the Great Hall of the People, with the theme: ‘‘Joining Hands for a Future of AIDS.’’
    Buhari’s first engagement in the country will be an interactive session with the Nigerian Community in China at the Nigerian Embassy.



    He is also expected to deliver his remarks as the current chairman of ECOWAS at the “High-level Dialogue between Chinese and African leaders, business representatives and African entrepreneurs.”
    Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola and Minister of FCT Muhammad Bello were also in the entourage.
    Similarly, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of Budget and National Planning Udoma Udo Udoma, Minister of Water Resource Suleiman Adamu, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources Ibe Kachikwu and Minister of State, Aviation Hadi Sirika, went for the summit.


    The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar and the Group Managing Director Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr Maikanti Baru, will also attend the summit.

Tambuwal who defected from the ruling APC to PDP on August 1st, stormed the Wadata Plaza headquarters of the opposition party in Abuja with his supporters this evening to pick up the nomination form.
